• ECFMG Pathways Requirements are released

• Start researching programs of interest. Use the ACGME Electronic Residency Application Service's list of participating specialties and programs, the Fellowship and Residency Electronic Interactive Database, AUC and RUSM's past residency placements as well as other international medical school residency placements

• OCA Match Action Plan (MAP) Follow-up calls start for students eligible for 2026 Match

• ERAS 2026 season begins at 9:00 AM EST

• Ob/Gyn and ResidencyCAS Application opens

• Obtain your ERAS Token in the ERAS Support Services section of ECFMG’s Online Applicant Status and Information System

• Register the ERAS token at AAMC’s MyERAS website. Once you have registered, start submitting your supporting documents.

• Ob/Gyn applicants should monitor ECFMG to find out how it will support those individuals in the 2025 NRMP Match*

July 1

• Deadline to MSPE Request Form, including Noteworthy Characteristics, for the 2026 Match

August*

• MSPE Letters are sent to students to review for factual errors (OCA waits until the last possible date to generate letters in order to capture as many rotations as possible)*

August 21*

• Recommended deadline to sit for Step 2 CK to have score reported by September 27 application release date* 

• The USMLE program will no longer implement dedicated score delay periods for the Step examinations. Most exam scores will continue to be reported within four weeks after an examinee completes their test. However, various factors may delay score reporting. When selecting your test date and inquiring about results, you should allow at least eight weeks to receive notification that your score report is available.

August 26*

• Ob/Gyn applicants can begin requesting USMLE scores to be transmitted to ResidencyCAS

September*

• MSPE Letters are uploaded by OCA to ECFMG/ERAS

• OCA Webinar: Residency Interview 

September 4*

• Residency applicants may begin submitting MyERAS® applications to programs at 9:00 AM EST

• Ob/Gyn applicants can start submitting application vis ResidencyCAS

September 15*

• Clinical Skills Attestation processed by Registrar

September 16*

• Match Registration opens at 12:00 PM EST and you can create your R3 account

• NRMP and ERAS, ResidencyCAS and CentralApp are separate organizations and you must register for both services.

• Deadline to register with ERAS in order to have the Medical School Transcript uploaded by the Registrar (all students/graduates who register by September 16 will automatically have their transcript uploaded to ECFMG/ERAS -- there is no need to request one)

September 17*

• ECFMG target date to submit supporting documents, including Medical Student Performance Evaluations (MSPEs), to help ensure their availability when programs begin accessing applications

September 25*

• Residency programs may begin reviewing MyERAS applications, MSPEs, and supplemental ERAS application data (if applicable) in the PDWS at 9:00 AM EST

• Ob/Gyn Application deadline (Application, LORs including SLOE and transcripts) (Applicants will apply to positions solely via ResidencyCAS)

October 2025 - February 2026

• Attend residency interviews. Visit AAMC for virtual interview support

• Schedule a Mock Interview with OCA

• OET must be taken by the last available test date in December 2025 and ECFMG must receive your scores directly from OET by January 31, 2026. OCA recommends that you sit for your OET exam by no later than November 2025 to ensure that you meet the January 31 deadline in a timely manner

• OCA Webinar: Rank Order List and Supplemental Offer and Acceptance Program (SOAP)*

• Login to R3 to build and edit your Rank Order List. at 12:00 PM EST*

• Medical schools begin verifying student/graduate graduation credentials.

• Last day for the Registrar to submit the electronic Clinical Skills Attestation to ECFMG

• Rank Order List Certification Deadline at 9:00 PM EST

• Applicant late registration for the Match and SOAP and Match withdrawal deadline*

• Applicant match status and program fill status available (by email and R3 system)

• Supplemental Offer and Acceptance Program Begins at 10:00 AM EST

• 11:00 AM EST: SOAP applicants can start preparing applications in the AAMC ERAS® system

• Applicants and their representatives cannot communicate with a program until contacted by that program

• MATCH applicants who decided to go for the 2026 MATCH are required to fill out, certify, and submit the on-line application portion of MyERAS. Your LoRs will not be saved if you do not certify and submit the MyERAS application before the end of the season
