The Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS) is a community of medical students, physicians, and other leaders who have been recognized for their compassionate care. This is one of the societies that is noted on your ERAS applications. Currently, only US medical schools are recognized by the GHHS. Students have taken the initiative to see if GHHS would be willing to expand their breadth of membership to international schools. That initiative has been taken up by RUSM leadership and they have been in communication with the society while they are reviewing documents RUSM submitted.
VSLO- We continue to follow up about VSLO participation but international schools have been denied from participating in this service.
Students should utilize the official Elective Guide for clerkships and follow Ross' policies on participating in away rotations.
TexasSTAR- TexasSTAR is a match data platform (more information HERE) that helps future students to see what it takes to match into certain specialties. A committee has been formed in order to begin a RUSM specific version, our first set of data will come from this years match. We are looking forward to sharing these important match factors with you!

Thank you to everyone who participated in the CSGA elections! We had a solid turnout with nearly 130 votes cast, and we hope to see even more involvement in the future because your voice and opinions matter. Your participation helps shape our community, and we’re grateful for your engagement and support. The President-Elect will be spending the next few months working alongside the current CSGA President to ensure plenty of time for a smooth transition, easing into the role without being overwhelmed and facilitating continuity for ongoing, recurring, and new projects that benefit the entire student body.
Remember, elections for other CSGA positions are scheduled for late April to early May, so stay tuned for more details to volunteer and serve on the CSGA!

A Word from the President Elect for CSGA Fall 2025 Term
Hello, everyone! I definitely wasn’t expecting to run for this position when I started clinicals, but after being a site senator and having friends in CSGA, I’ve really gotten to see how much of an impact students can have in certain roles. During my time as site senator, I learned that in addition to all the challenges that come with being a clinical student with Ross, there are tons of individual challenges that students face every day at their sites, finding/getting approved for electives, and dealing with stressful financial aid issues. I have been fortunate enough to have been on 10+ clubs’ E-boards, serve on SGA/CSGA, been a peer mentor, and more that I feel has uniquely prepared me for this role. Having these experiences has allowed me to understand a wide range of student needs and learn to collaborate with so many different people to try and make whatever positive impact we can. I look forward to being able to put what I've learned to work to benefit the large student body.
I goal is to provide students those opportunities, experiences, connections, etc. that make their clinical experience a positive one and to make them perfectly aware that someone at the university is listening to their needs and trying their best to advocate them. I truly care about making positive, sustainable change for students and all I want to do is make positive impacts for students now as well as for students long after I graduate. Thank you for this opportunity
CSGA Leadership apologizes for the delayed newsletter this month. We have been finalizing some dates for events which delayed the email. We are hopeful your rotations are going well! CSGA continues to have a multitude of events which we are excited to share with you!

Known Medtrics Issue with Final Grades
The CSGA and RUSM is aware of a known issue where Medtrics is not transferring the online curriculum portion of final grades to the registrar. This is resulting in incorrect grades showing up as final grades. The registrar has identified several hundred students that have been affected by this issue and is working to resolve the situation by the end of January. The system has been calculating grades correctly since the end of December. Expect an email from the registrar with more details.
Special note: If you are still concerned about the grade then you should file a grade appeal
Students have 2 weeks after a final grade is posted to file a grade appeal.
If students have concerns about pending grades and graduation audits, they can reach out to Registrar's office as well.
The following clubs will be having their general body meetings coming up, please join the meeting if you are interested in joining any of these clubs!
